Pick Up & Deliver Food for Neighbours Experiencing Homelessness/Poverty

Organization Description: The Neighbour Centre fights poverty by delivering essential programs and services to neighbours experiencing homelessness and poverty. We provide a safe place where individuals can take critical steps towards building, and sustaining, a healthy life. We are the only organization south of the river serving this population, and we need your help!

Volunteer Position: Edmonton Food Bank Coordinator
Go to the food bank weekly to pick up various food and products and then deliver them to the Centre to be used for meals and snacks for neighbours receiving services.

Duties & Responsibility

  • Represent the Centre at the Food Bank - shopping for donated food and products that will can be used for neighbours experiencing homelessness or poverty
  • Deliver the items to the Centre and put away (in fridge or cabinets as needed)
  • Volunteer/donate the cost associated with driving personal vehicle

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Personal vehicle
  • Ability to lift more than 30 lbs
  • Commit to volunteering on a regular schedule weekly (one day a week for appx 4 hours, preferably on a Wed or Thurs).
  • Be 21 years of age and older
